VCS Monthly Active

The top adult and junior finishers of our monthly Active Tournaments will receive free entry to our Active Grand Prix Tournament 2015; Adult section competes for the cash prize of $500. Perpetual trophy to both winners of the Open and junior section. Please check our VCS event calendar for upcoming details. If the winners have already been on the invitation list, we will extend the invitation to the next winner.

Arbutus Shopping Centre #252-4255 Arbutus Street, Vancouver, BC (Ample free parking)

(Use the entrance next to A & W Restaurant; take the escalator up to 2nd floor - Unit 252)

 Date:  Once per month, all year long   

Eligibility:   Open to all players.  See chart below.

Time control:  Game/25 Minutes with 5 seconds increment.

For pairing purposes onlyà Open section

All adults - CFC ratings will be used for pairing and prize eligibility; or FIDE/USCF/CMA if a player does not have a CFC rating.

All juniors who have both CFC & CMA ratings, your highest rating will be used.

For pairing purposes onlyà Junior section

CMA ratings will be used.

Individual Tie Breaker 个人决胜局 (Applies to Junior Section only):

1. Direct Encounter (Head to Head)

2. Cumulative score

3. Opposition cumulative score

If you cannot attend all rounds, maximum of 2 half point byes (except last round) is allowed. Please email us with your request or inform TD at least ½ hour before round starts 如果你不能参加所有回合，请电邮轮空要求或在赛前半小时请求不超过2次半分轮空（除最后一轮)

Chess sets and clocks are provided. 提供象棋和棋钟。

Registration Fees & payment  网上注册及付费:    $25

No onsite registration is allowed. Cut-off time: 8:00pm/night before tournament

Sibling discount: $5 off for 2nd member or higher in the family

NMs & FMs $5 off.  Free for IMs/GMs and player rated above 2300 CFC.
