BCYCC results
28 of our students participated in the 2-day, 5 round provincial tournament over the last weekend. It was a challenge of both strength and endurance. Our players put in their great efforts, and 18 of them scored 2.5 points and above, thus qualified for the upcoming national championship in Ottawa (CYCC). Congratulations to the following players who ranked top places in their sections: Sarah Murray (U8 Girls 1st place), Joyce Tang (U8 Girls 2nd place), Annika Zhou (combined U12 & U14 1st place, )Yekta Saremi (U12 Girls 3rd place); Kevin Low (U8 2nd place), Kevin Butchart, Aiden Zhou & Lucian Wu (U8 all tied for 3rd place). Ethan Low & Alec Chung (U10 tied for 2nd place), Daniel Du (U10 3rd place), Max Gedajlovic & Brenden Wu ( U12 tied for 3rd place), Yutong Zhang (U14 3rd place). Also congratulations to our volunteers Ryan Lo (U16 1st place) and Alice Xiao (U18 1st place). A warm thank you to our wonderful coaches for volunteering their time to help out during the tournament in arbiting, and game preparation and analysis.
