October Scholastic Chess Tournament, October 21, 2012 (Sunday)


Info: Vancouver Chess School is hosting our first Sunday Scholastic chess Tournament. We are welcoming any students Grades K-6 who have basic knowledge of chess to participate. Vancouver Chess School students who are at the beginner level and above are encouraged to join in the fun. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, and apply your skills. Generous awards to the top finishers and all participants.


Location: Vancouver Chess School
Arbutus Shopping Centre # 252-4255 Arbutus Street, Vancouver, BC

Date: October 21, 2012 (Sunday)

Time:
Check in time: 9:15 to 9:45am. All participants must pre-register online. First round of play starts at 10am. Awards begins ASAP after last round, estimated at 3:30 pm.

Eligible:
Any students grades K-6 who have basic knowledge of chess. Students at beginner classes and above are welcomed. Due to seating limitation, registration is based on first come, first serve basis. Please pre-register on our website www.vanchess.ca

Format:

Three Sections: K-1st Grade; 2nd-3rd Grade; 4th-6th Grade.
5 rounds Regular Swiss. NWSRS rated,
Time control: Game/25 Minutes with 5 second delay.
Chess sets and clocks are provided.
Please note that some groups may be combined if sections are small.

Prizes:

Trophies are awarded to the top eight finishers in each section. All players who are not trophy holders are awarded participating medals.

Entry Fees:

Early birds: $25 on or before Oct 18 (Thursday). $30 after Oct 18
